In this chapter, I'm going to discuss strategies for finding modules.
  • 0:11
As you know, one of the things that makes Drupal so amazing
  • 0:14
    is that it is modular.
  • 0:16
Drupal core itself is rather lean.
  • 0:19
It doesn't assume that you want an e-commerce site or a photo gallery site.
  • 0:23
Instead, the core features are pretty small

so that you can go and download contributed modules for your particular feature set.
  • 0:31
There are many, many modules out there, and it's kind of intimidating
  • 0:36
looking at that list, so I'm going to go over a couple things you can look at
  • 0:39
to help you pick out the best modules for your project.
  • 0:43
If you're on Drupal.org, go ahead and click Download and Extend.
  • 0:48
This will take you to a page that shows you different ways to search for modules.
  • 0:55
The first way we're going to look at is we're going to look at the most installed modules
  • 1:00
    in the history of Drupal.

In this video we take a look at where to find modules to add to your site, along with talking about things to look t when evaluating a module. In addition to looking at lists on Drupal.org, like http://drupal.org/project/usage, we also review a project's page to see what clues we can find, and we take a quick look at a project's issue queue.
