Release Day: Views Integration in Your Module

Today we're happy to start our dive into the Coding for Views series. Last week we kicked off the series by getting things all set up on our demo site and covering the resources we have available. This week we create a simple module that uses the Views API to export our site's view and store it in code in our module as a default view. With that basic understanding in place, we take a look at an existing module, our Databasics module, that we would like to integrate with Views, so we can dive even deeper in next weeks videos.

Release Day: Testing and Writing Patches with the Drupal Ladder

We've been doing a lot of work with the Drupal Ladder, and we have two new FREE videos in the Drupal Ladder series. These cover the next two steps of the Ladder, testing and writing patches. Both lessons use a Drupal 8 sandbox site that has a known bug in it. First you walk through the process of testing a patch that someone else has provided, and in the next lesson you learn how to write that patch yourself. There is no crazy coding involved — the patch is changing some help text in Drupal core.

Release Day: Drupal Ladder Teaches Git and the Issue Queue

This week we are continuing the free Drupal Ladder series with two more steps on the ladder. In the first video in the series we got a local Drupal site set up. In these two videos we move on to the two most important community tools for jumping in: Git and the Drupal.org issue queue.

Release Day: Ical Feeds and Custom Calendar Display

For this Wednesday, we continue the Calendars with Drupal 7 series by diving in to a variety of things. First we look at adding multi-day striping and a legend block to our calendars, then we move on to creating iCal feeds so that people can add our calendar to their own personal calendar applications. We wrap up this week by digging in to ways to customize the calendar display.

New Series: Calendars with Drupal 7

This release Wednesday sees us kicking off yet another new series! The Calendars with Drupal 7 series picks up after our Dates with Drupal 7 series and walks through everything you need to know about setting up, configuring and customizing the Calendar module.

We're starting off with the first three videos:

Release Day: Free Series on the Learn Drupal Ladder

Today we have a new series that we're very excited about! Back in March we talked about a new community initiative called Learn Drupal, and the great plan they have to get more people contributing back to core by creating a ladder of lessons. I've personally started to have some meetups for this here in Copenhagen, and I made some time to create videos to go with the lessons.

Release Day: Finishing up Dates

This Wednesday we are wrapping up our Dates with Drupal 7 series. We take a look at some more ways of using dates with the Views module, by using Views to create a summary listing and creating a display of our content grouped by date. The last video in this series introduces the Context module and shows you how to use this with Date context to display one of two blocks, depending on the date for a given piece of content. Enjoy!

Release Day: More Dates with Views and Repeating Events

For today's releases we are continuing the Dates with Drupal 7 series by playing around more with using dates with Views, as well as turning our attention to having multiple dates in one field and setting up repeating dates on your content. We present:

Everything You Wanted to Know About Dates

We've got a new series out today: Dates with Drupal 7! We may not be able to help you find that special someone, but we can help you navigate the world of dates and time in Drupal. This new series will cover all aspects of working with dates, from basic core configuration, to creating content types using the Date module, and seeing how this all works with Views.

New Release Wednesday: Final Site Building Videos

The last six videos in the Site Building With Drupal 7 Series are now available. These videos cover the final pieces you'll need to get your site ready for launch, and also includes a segment on upgrading and updating to keep it fresh:

Release Day: Site Building with Blocks and Themes

This Wednesday we are continuing our Site Building series with some videos that cover changing how your site looks. We dive in to the world of themes, regions, and blocks, which not only change the look of your site, but let you control some steady bits of content should be and when they should appear. The new videos are:

The Drupalize.me Video That Could Change Your Life

Most of the Lullabot team was at DrupalCon Denver this year, and we had a great time. Lullabots are pretty good at hugging, so seeing each other in person is a great eperience. We did notice, however, that not everyone at DrupalCon feels comfortable, or has practiced enough, with their hugs. As a service to the Drupal community, we'd like to help you out with a free video. Trainer extraordinaire Joe Shindelar is not only an expert in Drupal, he's also an expert in hugging.
