Issue Forks and Merge Requests Demo at the Portland Drupal User Group

At the Portland Drupal User Group meeting, we had as a special guest, Tim Lehnen from the Drupal Association, who walked us through the new Issue Forks and Merge Requests features on drupal.org. We also talked about how new contributors could learn how to contribute to Drupal.

Installing and Configuring Dreditor

With DrupalCon Los Angeles underway we thought it might be a good time to introduce (or reintroduce) folks to Dreditor (short for "Drupal editor"). Dreditor is a collection of user scripts, which alter browser behavior on specific pages on the drupal.org domain. The features of dreditor are mostly helpful in the issue queue and during the patch review process.

We have a video Installing and using Dreditor if you'd like to follow along, but since recording installation of Dreditor is even easier. Let's take a look at the changes, and how we can use this powerful tool to make interacting with the issue queue easier.

Drupal Dev Days and the Race to Code Freeze

During the week June 24th a mass of Drupal folks will converge on Dublin, Ireland for Drupal Dev Days. This year, in addition to the three days of DrupalCamp that is happening (June 28-30), there is also a week of sprints leading up to the camp, and to the Drupal 8 code freeze deadline. This is it. If it's going to be in Drupal 8, it needs to happen before the end of June.

Community Tools Curriculum (and a Dreditor Video)

On the eve of DrupalCon Portland, we're happy to be able to get another free community video out, Installing and Using Dreditor. What's more exciting though, is that this video is part of our Community Tools workshop, and in an effort to spread Drupal community involvement further than where we can show up to run this free workshop, we're putting all of our materials and notes online for everyone to use freely, with the Community Tools curriculum.
