Once again, our team will be at DrupalCon, this time in lovely Portland, and providing workshops on the day before the conference officially kicks off (Monday, May 20th). We're happy to say that we will be involved with two different workshops: Plan, Build, Launch: Real-World Drupal and the Performance and Scalability Dream Team. We have provided these workshops before, to sold out crowds, and aside from being packed with lots of useful info, we also think it's just great fun to talk shop and share our knowledge for a day in a more personal setting than the conference. You'll get a chance to really dive into the topics, and chat with us about real problems, and how to solve them.
Plan, Build, Launch: Real-World Drupal workshop
This workshop, led by Jeff Eaton and Joe Shindelar, will walk you through the top pitfalls for real-world Drupal projects and how to avoid them. We'll cover essential techniques for planning a successful project before the first module is installed, and the often-overlooked issues that can trip up projects before they launch. We'll also look at how you can future-proof your site, plan for future changes, and minimize the risk of an epic Drupal upgrade. Find out more and register for Plan, Build, Launch: Real-World Drupal.
Drupal Performance and Scalability with the Dream Team workshop
We have Nate Haug, who has kept the Grammy.com website up and running through four years of award shows, on the "Dream Team" for this workshop. This will be a deep dive to show you the best practices for running fast sites for a large volume of users. Starting with a blank Linux virtual server, we will work through the setup, configuration and tuning of Drupal using Varnish, Pressflow, Apache, MySQL, Redis and Apache Solr. Through this process, we will explain common pitfalls and how to avoid them. Find out more and register for Drupal Performance and Scalability with the Dream Team.
Registration is now open for both of these workshops, and we have sold out for both at previous DrupalCons, so get your seat!
