Release Day: Working with PHP Objects

This week, we continue our Introduction to Object-oriented PHP series, in partnership with KnpUniversity (now SymfonyCasts), with tutorials that mostly focus on working with objects in PHP. You'll also learn how to add a specially formatted comment to your code that will enable code autocomplete functionality in your IDE.

These tutorials are meant to give you a foundation in object-oriented PHP in preparation for the major shift to an object-oriented architecture in Drupal 8. You can learn more about the object-oriented PHP changes in Drupal 8 in our presentation video: What's New in Drupal 8: Object-oriented PHP.

Next week we'll release the final installment of this series, in which you'll complete the app with tutorials on class properties access control, type hinting, and constructors in PHP.
