    Drupalize.Me Demo Sites with Pantheon
  • 0:04
As a member of Drupalize Me, you have the benefit
  • 0:07
of working along with our tutorials. Many series or individual tutorials on Drupalize Me
  • 0:12
provide downloadable files that are the Drupal files in database instance that was created
  • 0:17
by the trainer at the end of each lesson. Because these files are typically a standard instance
  • 0:22
of Drupal, using them is pretty straightforward. In this tutorial, I'm going to discuss
  • 0:27
how you can use our downloads on a service called Pantheon.
  • 0:30
Pantheon allows a logged-in user to run
  • 0:33
two instances of a Drupal project in a development environment for free.
  • 0:36
The advantage for using Pantheon is there is no need to set up a local environment.
  • 0:40
In fact, there really isn't really a need to do anything but download two files
  • 0:44
from Drupalize Me, click a few buttons, upload those files in Pantheon, and you are on your way
  • 0:49
to working along with the instructor in the tutorial you are watching.
  • 0:52
After you create an account on Pantheon, you would be directed to your dashboard
  • 0:55
that looks just like this. Here is where you can manage your sites.
  • 0:59
Typically a Drupalize Me series may have multiple times you would want to use our downloads,
  • 1:03
and Pantheon only allows two. Don't worry, though. I will show you how you can delete your site
  • 1:08
and just create the next one in the series. But first, let's see how easy it is
  • 1:12
to just create one. Let's say you were watching this tutorial on configuring Apache for multiple domains.
  • 1:17
Because there are configurations made in Drupal, there are downloadable files
  • 1:20
to see the end product in this tutorial. One thing to understand, the downloads
  • 1:25
provided in this tutorial are essentially the end state of that particular video.
  • 1:29
If you want to start from the beginning of the video to follow along exactly,
  • 1:32
just download and use the files from the previous video. You will find these files at the end of each page
  • 1:37
under our Download section. Sometimes there may be multiple files here,
  • 1:41
but the ones you are going to need are the ones that we will call base Drupal files
  • 1:45
and Drupal installation database. Let's go ahead and download those now.
  • 1:49
Once downloaded, head on over to your Pantheon dashboard.
  • 1:52
Here, all we have to do is create your first site. Let's go ahead and do that.
  • 1:55
Go ahead and give your site a name, maybe just whatever you're doing in Drupalize Me,
  • 1:59
create your site, and then from here, instead of starting from scratch,
  • 2:04
we're going to import a site. Go ahead and click on that, scroll down.
  • 2:07
You'll notice that there's a link that says "click here to provide separate code files
  • 2:11
in database archives." That's what we're going to do, because Drupalize Me
  • 2:14
gives you a separate database and the files. So, click here. Now it's asking for a code archive.
  • 2:20
That's the Drupal base files that we provided. Let's go ahead and upload those.
  • 2:24
The database archive is the database snapshot that we provided as well.
  • 2:27
Let's go ahead and upload that. Once the files are uploaded, all we have to do
  • 2:29
is say "Import Site" and wait a few seconds, and you will now have an instance of that site.
  • 2:34
Let's go ahead and do that.
  • 2:43
And now we're complete, and our site is ready. Now we'll visit your Pantheon dashboard.
  • 2:47
And all you have to do is click on the "Visit Development Site." That will launch the Drupal
  • 2:53
that you just installed, with the database snapshot that we provided.
  • 2:56
Our logins for our videos are always going to be admin, admin.
  • 3:00
All right! Now you're logged in, running the exact instance of Drupal that the trainers left
  • 3:04
when they completed this tutorial. Now let's go back to our Pantheon dashboard.
  • 3:09
And on our dashboard, you'll see the site that we just created. You could click that to go back
  • 3:13
to its site and launch that back up into its development site. Or you could create another site.
  • 3:18
But what happens when you want to go create one more? Well, let's click on this,
  • 3:21
and we're just going to delete it since we're done with that tutorial.
  • 3:24
Delete a instance in Pantheon you visited. Then go to "Settings." Then go to "Delete site."
  • 3:30
Then click "Delete site" and now you type in the site name.
  • 3:38
And say you understand, and it will delete that. And now you're back to allowing to have two again.
  • 3:43
So that's how you can use our downloads on Pantheon. It's quick, it's simple, and it's easy,
  • 3:49
and if you just want to follow around, or just want to check out one thing of configuration
  • 3:53
that the trainer did in that particular video, you can just use the downloads right here with Pantheon.
