2 New Guides: Intro to Drupal and Learn Drupal 8

Just two weeks ago we launched our new format for guides, along with a landing page that presents our guides and topics on one page. This week we’re pleased to add 2 more new guides to the list: Introduction to Drupal and Learn Drupal 8. Both of these guides provide overviews that answer common questions and point you in the right direction to get started with Drupal.

Introduction to Drupal

This guide is intended for folks who are not familiar with Drupal and need an overview of what Drupal is. It answers the most common questions for new people:

  • What is a content management system (CMS)?
  • What is open source?
  • What is Drupal?

This is a great place to send someone who needs some context and orientation before diving into actually building a site with Drupal.

Learn Drupal 8

This new guide is designed to help you figure out where to get started on your Drupal 8 journey. It breaks things down according to whether you are new to Drupal, know Drupal 7 and need to transfer knowledge, or just need to learn a particular topic for a project or task. It also covers some tips for starting places and resources for general Drupal 8 tools, site building, theming, and module development.

We’re always looking to add to and improve the guides we offer, so please feel free to give us feedback about them. We’re also actively working on creating and updating our group of guides for navigating Acquia Certification Exam preparation as well, so look for those updates in the coming month. If you have a suggestion for a guide or topic you'd like to see on the site, please let us know!
