More and more people are getting excited about working with Drupal 8. We’ve been working full-speed to put together the most accurate Drupal 8 tutorials, as well as keeping them up to date, as Drupal 8 changes every 6 months. I wanted to give an update on where we are with our Drupal 8 material and give you a look at what to expect over the coming 3 months from our team.

We’re hard at work every week creating new Drupal 8 tutorials and this is the main list of what we are tackling for the rest of 2016:
- Rounding out the existing Migration Guide with more on custom migrations and handling various facets
- Updating Drupal 8 (moving from one version of Drupal 8 to another)
- Using the Drupal 8 Entity API
- Understanding Plugins, Hooks, and Events
- Drupal 8 User Guide: Working with Views and Using Blocks
We’ve also found that the new written tutorial format supplemented with videos has been a big hit since it gives members the flexibility to learn using their preferred medium. We switched to this new format right as we started to publish Drupal 8 tutorials last year. Since the format has been so popular, we are going to add written tutorials to our video-only Drupal 8 material, specifically the KnpUniversity series we have on Module Development Essentials and Object-oriented PHP and our Configuration Management series.
You can also look forward to a number of updates to existing tutorials as we do our regular review for Drupal core updates. Drupal 8.2.x is going to be released in October, so we are in the process of completely updating the Configuration Management series, including adding more videos to written material. We will also be doing other minor updates based on Drupal 8.2.x changes. Keep an eye out for an update on that within the next week.
