The Hour of Code will be here soon, during December 7-13. What is this, you ask? It is an event that provides a one-hour introduction to computer science to people around the world. The event is organized by Code.org. They provide a huge range of tutorials in over 40 languages, and at different levels for different age groups. They even have cool tutorials that use Minecraft or Star Wars to get kids (and adults) playing with code.
The Hour of Code events are organized and run by thousands of volunteers. There is plenty of guidance for running an Hour of Code; you don't even need to provide computers or be a developer. You just need to help create a space for someone to learn. If you'd like to get involved without organizing an event yourself, you can find one near you and volunteer to help out. They're happening all over the globe, so find your country and see what's happening!
