Recently Drupalize.Me announced that I had joined the Drupalize.Me team. (So exciting!) I'm bringing with me my catalog of training curriculum, including my flagship course, PSD to Theme. The next opportunity for you to take this course is at DrupalCon Portland. This is a full-day course that has sold out every time it's been offered.
The course gently guides you through the steps of converting a static design file into a completed Drupal theme. It's appropriate for first-time themers. To succeed, you'll need to know a little bit of HTML and CSS, but you don't need any experience with PHP. (Promise.)
At the workshop we'll group people according to their abilities and interests, so you can dive into the materials at exactly the right speed. In the past we've always had groups of designers, newbie Drupal themers, small business owners, and yes, managers who are looking to learn the lingo so they can improve their communication with their team and clients.
You'll get loads of support material so you don't need to memorize everything that happens in class. And, unlike most DrupalCon training, this course includes a month of free follow-up support. So you can fill your brain at the training, and then fill your boots with even more information at DrupalCon without having to worry about remembering everything from the training. (If you've been to DrupalCon before, you'll know how awesome it would be to come "home" to workshop-related support.)
Remember though, this course is likely to sell out. Be sure to register as soon as you can for the PSD to Theme workshop for beginners.

This is a training workshop so there won't screencasts posted on Drupalize.Me. We hope to see you in person in Portland. :)
