Views Demystified

I love Views! I might be a little exuberant, but seriously, it is by far, in my humble opinion, the best contributed module. And I'm not the only one that feels that way! Check out the module usage stats on Drupal.org. As the most-downloaded contributed module, Views gets a lot of well-deserved attention. We've published a new series of videos, Intro to Views for Drupal 7, to walk you through this wonderful Drupal tool.

Tasty Treats: More Series and More Free Videos

Recently we announced that we'd be rolling out series of shorter videos to make it easier to find and view the information you want. Now that we have the structure in place for shorter videos, we have gone a step further and broken our existing long videos into series as well. Aside from making it easier to navigate the videos and providing a smoother playback experience, this also gave us the opportunity to offer some of the chapters for FREE!

New Video Series: Intro to Fields for Site Builders

Over the next couple of weeks, we're going to be publishing a new video series for site builders on extending content types with fields. It's on Drupal 7, and is a great introduction to the new interface in Drupal 7 for configuring content types and fields, and it will be paired with a complementary series on the new interface of Views 3 for Drupal 7.

Introduction to Drush

Experienced developers, and new site builders alike can remember a time when installing a module meant visiting it's project page on drupal.org, downloading and unpacking it and dropping it in the correct directory. That process can be quite tedious every time there's an update if your site has dozens of modules. Thank goodness for drush. While drush's utility certainly isn't limited to helping download modules for your site in an efficient manner, it's an absolutely invaluable tool for anyone working with Drupal sites on a regular basis. We're happy to present a new series, Introduction to Drush, with the first video, What is Drush?, released today.

Drupalize.Me Has Been “Pinkie Pie-Zed” Improved!

The latest sprint we completed for Drupalize.Me was called Pinkie Pie (we name all our sprints after My Little Pony™ characters—yeah, we’re fun like that). And although the name is silly, we took seriously the efforts we made to improve the Drupalize.Me experience for our members.

We’ve been listening to your feedback, and some of the changes we made in this sprint include:

Group Subscriptions Are Ready!

We're happy to announce that we've rolled out group membership options on Drupalize.me. We even created two different approaches, so that you can pick which one works best for your group. The first option will let you buy a set number of accounts for your group (see basic pricing information in our FAQ about groups) and the second gives you unlimited accounts when accessed from a particular range of IP addresses. Here is a brief overview of the two choices and how they work.

Video Series on Image Styles

When I’m learning any software, the first thing I want to do is play with all the features and make my creation pretty, using all the bells and whistles. I remember the first time I played with PowerPoint…I had swirling text and zig-zagging images everywhere.

The Command Line Basics Series

In the last few weeks you may have noticed we've been releasing a series of free videos about using the command line: Command Line Basics. There are a total of 12 videos in the series, each only between 6 to 15 minutes long, and we'll be continuing to release them over the coming weeks until we get them all out there. The entire series will be free.

Go Drupalize Yourself at an Even Lower Price!

Get more Drupal training for less! Drupalize.me now has new, lower prices -- as little as $35/month for an annual subscription -- so it's a great time to sign up. And, if you're one of our loyal learners (Lullabot loves you!) you will automagically be charged the new lower rate for your selected payment plan on your next billing.

Also, if you have a 6-month plan you'll be getting an additional month added to your account for FREE, and if you have an annual plan you'll receive an additional 3 months for FREE.

Announcing New Payment Options!

One request we have consistently gotten from current subscribers and people on the fence alike is the ability to signup for 6 months or a full year at a time. Well we think that's just ridiculous. Come on! Only kidding, that's actually a very reasonable request that we've been hard at work on it for a little while now. It was a tricky thing to figure out since we wanted to let current subscribers also switch OFF of their monthly account option to another plan if they wished to. We didn't want our awesome Drupalized people having to cancel just to get the billing frequency they prefer!

Sorry About That (a.k.a. Whoopsie Daisy)

Some of you may have noticed that, for several hours on Friday evening, the drupalize.me site was unavailable. We're very sorry! We've been working hard lately, building some nifty new features. To let you in on a little secret, we've been working on a fancy new subscription system that will allow subscribers to choose 6 month or 1 year subscriptions instead of just monthly. W00t! Many of you have requested this. We were working on this new feature when we made an error (insert sad trombone sound) that required us to temporarily take the site down.
