Another Drupalize.Me release, another pony. Our Daisyjo release touched lots of little bits and pieces of the site. We implemented a number of changes that many of you have been asking for, as well as adding some things that would let you get to know us a little better.

We just finished our Do It With Drupal conference in Brooklyn, NY. If you missed the event, or were there and missed some of the sessions (there were so many good ones to see), we'll have videos of ALL the sessions on Drupalize.Me in a few weeks. We've just finished posting a new video series introducing you to Drupal Theming in Drupal 7. "Theming" describes the process of customizing the look and feel of your Drupal site, which involves working with Drupal's templating system at the basic level, and writing customized theming functions in PHP at the more advanced level.

We've added a new category to the site, called Community, and we've already added two new free videos to it, Applying a patch to a module and Creating a patch for a module. We got the idea for the new category from a question asked by Paul Johnson on Twitter, and set to work on getting some videos up about patching.

As some of you may know, we here at Drupalize.Me name our code sprints after My Little Pony™ characters. There has been a lot going on the last few months and we didn't get a chance to update you on the work we've done in our last two sprints: Ripple and Tink-a-Tink-a-Too.

I love Views! I might be a little exuberant, but seriously, it is by far, in my humble opinion, the best contributed module. And I'm not the only one that feels that way! Check out the module usage stats on Drupal.org. As the most-downloaded contributed module, Views gets a lot of well-deserved attention. We've published a new series of videos, Intro to Views for Drupal 7, to walk you through this wonderful Drupal tool.

Recently we announced that we'd be rolling out series of shorter videos to make it easier to find and view the information you want. Now that we have the structure in place for shorter videos, we have gone a step further and broken our existing long videos into series as well. Aside from making it easier to navigate the videos and providing a smoother playback experience, this also gave us the opportunity to offer some of the chapters for FREE!

Over the next couple of weeks, we're going to be publishing a new video series for site builders on extending content types with fields. It's on Drupal 7, and is a great introduction to the new interface in Drupal 7 for configuring content types and fields, and it will be paired with a complementary series on the new interface of Views 3 for Drupal 7.

Experienced developers, and new site builders alike can remember a time when installing a module meant visiting it's project page on drupal.org, downloading and unpacking it and dropping it in the correct directory. That process can be quite tedious every time there's an update if your site has dozens of modules. Thank goodness for drush. While drush's utility certainly isn't limited to helping download modules for your site in an efficient manner, it's an absolutely invaluable tool for anyone working with Drupal sites on a regular basis....

The latest sprint we completed for Drupalize.Me was called Pinkie Pie (we name all our sprints after My Little Pony™ characters—yeah, we’re fun like that). And although the name is silly, we took seriously the efforts we made to improve the Drupalize.Me experience for our members.

We're happy to announce that we've rolled out group membership options on Drupalize.me. We even created two different approaches, so that you can pick which one works best for your group. The first option will let you buy a set number of accounts for your group (see basic pricing information in our FAQ about groups) and the second gives you unlimited accounts when accessed from a particular range of IP addresses. Here is a brief overview of the two choices and how they work.

Today we released a new video on using the Features module for Drupal 7: Deployment with Features and Drush. This is a wonderful developer tool that helps you roll out consistent features to your sites and speeds up deployment (e.g., moving work from a development server to the live site).
